Waropen Guide | Papua | Indonesia | News
thank you for your interest in a tour to Papua with us,
Papua Adventures. New for this year we are offering an expedition into the one of the last "blank" spots in Papua. This is the border between Waropen and the Mamberamo River.
There are still tribes in the area that have had no contact with the outside world. Tribes that still are traditional and use stone and bone implements.
And there are tribes that have had minimal contact with the outside world.
This expedition will be very difficult, but the rewards will be great. I think this expedition has the potential to be one of the best and most exciting tours
that we offer all year.
What makes this expedition so unique, is that no westerner has ever traveled the route that we are intending to take. And our local Papuan friends who hunt crocodiles, pan for gold, look for Gaharu wood will be our guides. Because nobody knows the jungle of Papua as well as these guys. They've had lots of experience in the jungle and many times have had contact with tribes that nobody else from the outside world has seen.
Travel on this expedition will consist of 2 domestic airline flights within Papua,
a chartered airplane flight, boats for 7 days and trekking in the jungle.
Remember that we are going into the, "land of the unexpected" and besides being physically fit, an open mind is of utmost importance here.
This expedition is scheduled for 21 days. Starting and ending in Bali, Indonesia.
Because of the secrecy of this kind of expedition.
A deposit of $US 2000 must be paid before the itinerary is given.
I know that it sounds strange to give a deposit before knowing the exact itinerary.
But, you have to trust me on this. I've given out many itinerary's in the past, only to have the information used by other tour companies.
Companies that don't do their own research or exploratory expeditions.
